Mr. Shraga Brosh Manufacturers Association president and Israel Export Institute chairman said last week that Final export figures for 2004, including diamonds, indicate that the number of exporters to Asia grew by 37% to 9,286, the number of exporters to the US grew by 5% to 6,167 companies, and the number of exporters to the Latin America grew by 13% to 2,783 companies.
 
The number of exporters to Europe fell, however, by 1%, but remained the highest in absolute terms, at 20,304 companies.
 
Brosh noted that the ten countries with the greatest number of Israeli exporters are the US 6,167 companies ( an increase of 5%); the UK - 2,853 companies (an increase of 10%); Turkey - 2,578 companies (an increase of 1,877%); Germany - 2,196 companies (an increase of 7%); France - 1,981 companies (an increase of 3%); Jordan - 1,795 companies (an increase of 120%); Italy - 1,620 companies (an increase of 8%); Belgium - 1,603 companies (an increase of 6%); the Netherlands - 1,605 companies (an increase of 7%); and Canada - 1,388 companies (an increase of 9%).
 
The analysis also shows that the 10 countries with the fewest Israeli exporters in 2004 were the Falkland Islands, Libya and Micronesia - one company each; Comoros and Greenland - two companies each; Angola and Afghanistan - three companies each; Bhutan - four companies; and Bahrain and Brunei - five companies each.
