Imports in the period January-May, excluding diamonds, totaled US$15.8 billion, Exports to Asia in March-May 2006 rose by an annualized 28%
 
The Central Bureau of Statistics (CBS) published last week foreign trade figures related to the three months period March-May 2006.
 
According to the published figures imports from Asia rose by an annualized 22% while imports from the EU rose by an annualized 12%. Imports from the US fell by an annualized 8%.
 
Imports in the period January-May, excluding diamonds, totaled US$15.8 billion
Exports to Asia in March-May 2006 rose by an annualized 28%, exports to the EU rose by an annualized 9%, exports to the US rose by an annualized 50% while exports to other countries rose by an annualized 21%.
 
Total exports, excluding diamonds rose in the five months period - January-May, by an annualized 21%, to US$11.9 billion.
