According to data published last Wednesday by the Central Bureau of Statistics (CBI) for the March to May 2006 period, there has been a significant increase in export of Israeli made merchandise and in the number of tourists in Israeli hotels.
The bad news, however, were that import of investment goods went down and that unemployment rate has gone up.
The figures indicate continued increase in industrial manufacturing. Export of goods (with the exception of diamonds, ships and planes) increased by 1.6% based on a monthly calculation, in comparison to the period preceding it . The number of tourists in the three month period increased by 3.4% by monthly calculations.
