Export of goods was up by an annualized 22.1% in the three months period November 2006-January 2007. Industrial exports was up by an annualized 8%
 
The Central Bureau of Statistics (CBS) reported last week that export of goods, excluding diamonds, was up by an annualized 22.1% in the three months period November 2006-January 2007.
 
The CBS also reported that imports of raw materials, excluding diamonds and fuel, was up by an annualized 13.1%.
 
According to the data released by the CBS:
Industrial exports was up by an annualized 8%
Hotel overnights by Israelis was up by an annualized 6.5% and Tourist overnights rose by an annualized 26.8%.
 
In a separate report the CBS noted that rate of inflation was 0.4% in the period November ‘06 – January ‘07, after falling by an annualized 3.1% in July-October 2005.

Inflation rate is still well below the lower limit of the Government’s price stability target of 1-3%.
The low inflation rate is due to lower fuel prices and the low shekel-dollar exchange rate.
