739,000 tourists traveled to Israel by air, an increase of 20% compared to the parallel period last year

 

Figures published last week by the Central Bureau of Statistics (CBS) and the Ministry of Tourism showed that 884,000 tourists visited Israel in January-May 2006, a 25% increase compared with the parallel period last year.

 

The figures also show that 739,000 tourists traveled to Israel by air, an increase of 20% compared to the parallel period last year , 140,000 tourists traveled overland, and 1,300 traveled by sea.
