Mr. Grisha Doitch, director of standards at the Ministry of Trade informed last week that the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC) signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) with Israel's Ministry of Trade to improve the safety of consumer products in their bilateral trade.
The agreement calls for an exchange of information on consumer product safety, and an exchange of officials, experts and professionals to carry out consumer safety programs.
Doitch noted that the "MOU marks the end of a long period during which the necessary work was carried out by both sides". He added that "Protecting consumers is our number one priority”.
"This collaborative agreement underscores our commitment to improving the safety of consumer products. It is the beginning of a long and mutually-beneficial relationship with the United States that will protect consumers.”
