Avi Ardity the head of the Israeli customs directorate has announced that the new state-of-the-art computer system will begin the compulsory pilot stage on April 13th, 2015.

 

During the pilot stage which will last several months, customs brokers are requested to transmit “Global Gate” import declarations in parallel to the transmission of their regular import declarations.

 

The system will set the pace for automation in other government departments leading to true e-government in foreign trade

 

The “Global Gate” system is Israel's customs directorate next generation computerized system, one of the first end-to-end automated solutions for customs in the world, aiming to introduce a new generation of computerized systems, simplify the administrative burden of international movement of goods, and improve customs enforcement.
