Ashdod customs units seized a large shipment of weapon systems and accessories that were imported into Israel from China en route to Hebron, West Bank.

In a press release, the Israeli customs directorate noted that over 14,000 items have been seized in a container which was also stuffed with jewelry, textile items, handbags, wallets.

The Israeli customs risk assessment profiling system marked the container, prior to its release, as high-risk container and ordered full physical examination. During the examination customs officers found 4,000 Electric Shock Devices which can result in a minor or severe injury to a person, 1,000 iron clubs, 3,200 Pepper sprayers, also known as OC spray (from "Oleoresin Capsicum"), 2,000 catapults (slingshots), 400 high energy laser beam directors which are prohibited for importation to the West Bank and 3,500 faked Casio watches.

The market value of the items is estimated to be over NIS1.5 million.
