D&B: Procurement Managers Index shows strong recovery after the second Lebanon war

The manufacturing component in the Procurement Managers Index rose by 11.9% from 54.3% in July to 66.2% in August
 
Israel's Procurement Managers Index published monthly by D&B Israel and Israel Purchasing and Logistics Managers Association, shows that the economy is expanding. The August 2006's index was up 6.4% to 56.5%, up from 50.1% in July.
 
The manufacturing component in the Procurement Managers Index rose by 11.9% from 54.3% in July to 66.2% in August. The rapid recovery of the Israeli manufacturing sector demonstrates the strength of the Israeli economy.
 
The employment component in the Procurement Managers Index rose by 11.2% from 47.7% in July to 58.9% in August.
 
The domestic demand component in the Procurement Managers Index rose 12.9% from 42.5% in July to 55.4% in August.
 
The export demand component was down by 1.5% from 61% in July to 59.5% in August. The index’s publishers noted that, during the second Lebanon war, despite the contraction in domestic demand, export demand was unaffected.
 
The domestic demand and employment components, which indicated economic contraction in July, rose to over 50% in August, indicating strong economic expansion.
