The exports of goods totaled NIS19.9 billion, 34 percent imported from EU countries
 
Data released by the Central Bureau of Statistics [CBS] of Israel for June 2012, show that import of goods (gross, excluding diamonds) totaled NIS19.9 billion. 34% were imports from EU countries, 21% from Asian countries, 13% from USA and 32% from Other Countries.
 
Exports of goods (gross excluding diamonds) totaled NIS13.7 billion and the trade deficit (excluding diamonds) totaled NIS 6.2 billion. 32% were exports to EU countries, 22% to USA, 24% to Asian countries and 22% to other Countries.
 
Trade balance February-June 2012: The trade deficit (excluding diamonds) in January-June 2012 totaled NIS 41.5 billion (NIS 26.8 billion in January-June 2011). The trade deficit with EU countries totaled NIS16.2 billion, the trade deficit with Asian countries totaled NIS8.5 billion and the trade deficit with Other country group totaled NIS20.1 billion. The trade with U.S.A recorded a surplus of NIS 3.3 billion.
 
Import of goods April- June 2012: The trend data calculated by the Central Bureau of Statistics, seasonally adjusted and adjusted for irregular elements, point to a drop in import of goods (excluding ship, aircraft, diamonds and fuels) of 0.9%, at an annual rate, during April - June 2012, after a rise of 1.4% in January-March 2012.
 
Trend data by main country groups indicates that imports from EU countries remain stable, at an annual rate, during April - June 2012, after a rise of 7.5% during January-March 2012. In January-June 2012 imports from Cyprus, Ireland and Netherlands grew significantly compared to the same period in 2011.
 
Imports from USA point to a rise of 11.0% at an annual in April-June, continuing a rise of 26.3% at an annual rate (monthly average of 2%) in January-March.
 
Imports from Asian Countries point to a rise of 6.6% continuing an increase of 3.8% in January-March 2012. During January-June 2012 imports from Jordan, Sri Lanka and Vietnam grew significantly compared to the same period in 2011.
 
Imports from Other Countries group point to a drop of 0.5% during the last three months, at an annual rate, after an increase of 18.8% during January-March 2012. During January-June 2012 imports from Russia, Egypt and Australia decrease significantly compared to the same period in 2011.
 
Exports of goods: The trend data calculated by the Central Bureau of Statistics, seasonally adjusted and adjusted for irregular elements, point to a drop in export of goods (excluding diamonds) of 3.3%, at an annual rate, during April - June 2012 continuing a decrease of 0.7% during January-March 2012.
 
Trend data by main country groups indicates that exports to EU countries point to a drop of 29.1% (2.8% monthly average), at an annual rate, during April-June 2012, continuing a drop of 14.5% during January- March 2012. In January –June 2012 exports to Austria, Germany and Bulgaria decreased significantly compared to the same period in 2011.
 
Exports to USA point to a drop of 4.7%, at an annual rate, during April - June 2012 after an increase of 19.2% during January-March 2012.
 
Exports to Other Countries group point to a drop of 22.7% during the last three months continuing a decrease of 15.4% in January-March 2012. During January-June 2012 exports to Turkey, Canada and Honduras drop significantly compared to the same period in 2011.
 
Exports to Asian Countries point to a rise of 23.5% during April - June 2012 continuing an increase of 18.1% in January-March 2012. During January-June 2012 exports to Azerbaijan, Vietnam and China increase significantly compared to the same period in 2011.
