Gaza’s flowers are transported from the Kerem Shalom border crossing by Israeli exporters to the flower auctions in Holland
Flower farmers in the Gaza Strip exported last Thursday a shipment of 30,000 roses, carnations, and chrysanthemums through an Israeli border crossing in a rare easing of the Gaza blockade that will see continued flower exports until the season ends in May of next year.
The flower shipment marks the first time since the 2006-07 season that Gaza’s flower growers, on a request brought by theNetherlands to Israel’s Defense Ministry, export their entire harvest to European markets.
An Israeli official confirmed the a flower shipment had been made. Gaza’s flowers are transported from the Kerem Shalom border crossing by Israeli exporters to the flower auctions in Holland.
