The Central Bureau of Statistics (CBS) reported last week that Israel's Consumer Price Index (CPI) for October 2014 rose by 0.3%.
The CBS reported that notable price rises in October were recorded in the following items: fresh vegetables (2%), food (0.7%), fashion and footwear (5.5%), educational services (0.6%), furniture (0.5%), and housing costs (0.2%).
There were, however, notable falls in fresh fruit (1.9%) and culture and entertainment (0.4%). According to the CBS, since the beginning of 2014, the CPI is unchanged and the index excluding fruit and vegetables and the index excluding energy have both risen 0.1%.
Over the 12 months up to and including October 2014, the index has fallen by 0.3%, while the index excluding housing has fallen 1.1%, the index excluding energy has fallen 0.2% and the index excluding fruit and vegetables in unchanged.
