The Central Bureau of Statistics (CBS) reported that Israel's Consumer Prices Index (CPI) rose by 0.1% in December to 102.3 points.

 

In 2013, the CPI rose by 1.8%. The small rise in prices in December 2013 was, according to the report, despite a sharp rise in the prices of fashion and footwear, which rose 9.1%, fresh vegetables, which rose 4.5%.

 

The rise in the CPI was. However, tempered by fresh fruit, which declined by 0.9%, housing costs , down 0.3%, furniture and household equipment, down 0.6%, health, down 0.5%, and culture and entertainment, down 1.1%.
