CBS: Unemployment down to 5.6% in April

Israel’s unemployment rate decreased in April from 5.7% to 5.6% and the rate of participation in the workforce rose from 63.9% to 64%

The Central Bureau of Statistics (CBS) reported that Israel’s unemployment rate decreased in April from 5.7% to 5.6% and the rate of participation in the workforce rose from 63.9% to 64%.

 

Unemployment Rate in Israel averaged 7.89 Percent from 1992 until 2014, reaching an all time high of 11.40 Percent in March of 1992 and a record low of 5.40 Percent in December of 2011. The CBS also noted that among the 25-64 age range,

 

Unemployment did rise slightly from 5.1% to 5.2%, and the group simultaneously dropped in its rate of participation in the workforce, from 79.7% to 79.6%. This is one of the lowest rates of unemployment in the OECD.
