Data published by the Central Bureau of Statistics (CBS) show that foreign investment in Israeli companies in 2012 totaled US$74.4 billion.
According to the CBS, the amount of foreign investment in Israel in 2012 represented a 14.5% increase over the US$65 billion of foreign investment in 2011, and a 40.7% increase from 2010, which saw foreign investment of some US$60 billion.
Initial figures for 2013 indicate that foreign investment in Israeli companies continued to grow by some US$1 billion. Direct investment by Israeli citizens in foreign companies comprised US$73.9 billion in 2012, a 4.4% increase over 2011 and 7.3% more than in 2010.
