Exports to Arab countries in Q1 up 34.5%

According to figures released last week by the Israel Export Institute, Israeli industrial exports to Arab countries grew, in the first quarter of 2006, by 34.5% to $57 million, compared to 2005.
 
The Israel Export Institute noted however that the figures do not include indirect exports to Arab countries via third parties or via intermediary countries.
 
The report also noted that exports to Egypt were up 148.5%, while exports to Jordan were down 6%, to $26.5 million.
 
According to the Israel Export Institute there are 27 Israeli exporters who sell communications and other equipment to the U.S. forces in Iraq. 

The total value of these exports in the quarter reached $320,000, up 46% from the same period in 2005.
