Exports to Europe fell 11%, and exports to the US fell by 5%. The Export Institute predicts that imports from the US will fall by 14% in 2009
The Israel Export and International Cooperation Institute (IEICI) reported last week that Israeli exports, excluding diamonds, to Asia fell by 19% in September-October 2008. Exports to Europe fell 11%, and exports to the US fell by 5%.
The IEICI also predicted that exports to the US, which account for a third of Israeli exports, will fall by 0.4% in 2009, after rising by 1.4% in 2008.
It predicts that exports to the EU, which accounts for 30% of Israeli exports, will fall by 0.3% next year, after rising by 1.3% this year.
The Export Institute predicts that imports from the US will fall by 14% in 2009, after rising by 10% in 2008.
