Free trade with Mercosur trade block looks closer

Ministry of Foreign affairs and Justice Ministries returned last week from a second round of discussions in Argentina on the establishment of a free trade agreement with the Mercosur trade block

A delegation including representatives of the Israeli Tax Authority, the Ministry of  Industry, Trade and Labor, Ministry of Foreign affairs and Justice Ministries returned last week from a second round of discussions in Argentina on the establishment of a free trade agreement with the Mercosur trade block.( Mercosur (el Mercado Com n del Sur) trade block consisting of four South American countries: Brazil, Argentina, Uruguay and Paraguay). 

Mr. David Huri, Israeli Tax Authority representative and head the bilateral trade agreement department, told our reporter that following the meeting in Argentina a free trade agreement took another step towards being.   Huri added that the Israeli and South American negotiators will meet again this month in Jerusalem, in a mutual attempt to complete the talks by July.                                                                                     

He noted that a free trade agreement with the Mercosur trade block would be beneficial to the Israeli export community by opening fast growth markets such as Brazil to Israeli made goods.
