The head of the Israeli-Palestinian Chamber of Commerce and Industry said that the volume is constantly increasing
Ofir Gendelman, the head of the Israeli-Palestinian Chamber of Commerce and Industry (IPCC), said last week that trade between Israel and Palestinians reached the level of NIS 15 billion in 2008, and the volume is constantly increasing.
Out of the NIS 15b. in trade with the Palestinians in 2008, NIS 2b.was with Gaza Strip and NIS 13b. was with the Palestinians in the West Bank, he said.
Last Monday, The Israeli-Palestinian Chamber of Commerce which was established with the aim of strengthening the commercial and economic ties between Israel and the Palestinian Authority held its first gala event at the Tel Aviv Dan Hotel with the presence of over 350 businessmen, as well as foreign ambassadors.
The event was hosted by Mr. Eival Giladi, the Chair of IPCC, and sponsored by the Portland Trust, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the Nesher Israel Cement Enterprises, the ASYD Investment Company, and the Ministry of Industry, Trade and Labor.
The Israeli-Palestinian Chamber of Commerce was established early this year atthe initiative of leading Israeli businesspeople.
