The Central Bureau of Statistics (CBS) informed last week that in February 2006 imports of goods, excluding diamonds fell 11.9%, to $2.96 billion, compared to $3.36 billion in January
Compared to the parallel period in 2005, imports of goods in February 2006 were 11.5% higher than in February 2005, which totaled $2.65 billion.
The CBS noted that even after taking into account the short month of February and the subsequent reduced number of work and trading days, imports were still 2.4% lower.
