Efrat Cohen: In 2005, a 7% increase in the number of exporters (including diamond exporters) to the United States; an 8% percent increase in the number of exporters to Asia and a 10% decrease to the European Community; the largest number of exporters is tothe US – 6,623 exporter
 
In 2005 there was a 7% increase over the previous year in the number of exporters (including diamond exporters) to the US – the number reached 6,623. The number of exporters to the EC decreased last year by 10% - the number of companies totaled 10,121. An increase of 8% took place in the number of exporters to Asia – 8,105 companies last year. The number of exporters to Latin America also increased by 8% - the number of companies reached 3,811. These figures were reported by Efrat Cohen, Manager of the Financial Division of the Export Institute.
 
The Export Institute Financial Division’s data analysis indicates that the 10 countries working with the largest number of Israeli exporters are: the US – 6,623 companies (7% increase); Great Britain – 2,968 companies (4% increase); Germany – 2,363 companies (8% increase); Belgium – 1,757 companies (10% increase); Italy – 1,722 companies (6% increase); Holland – 1,616 companies (1% increase); Canada – 1,499 companies (8% increase); Jordan – 1,343 companies (25% decrease); Spain – 1,341 companies (9% increase); and Australia – 1,305 companies (12.4% increase).
 
The Israel Export & International Cooperation Institute Financial Division’s analysis also indicates that the 10 countries working with the smallest number of Israeli exporters are: Tuvalu (an island country in the Pacific, with the smallest number of inhabitants in the world) – 1 company; Comoro Islands – 1 company; Angola – 2 companies; Brunei (a sultanate located on the island of Borneo in Southeast Asia) – 5 companies; Malawi (country in East Africa) – 5 companies; Myanmar (formerly Burma, in Southeast Asia) – 6 companies; Bangladesh (inSouthern Asia) – 7 companies; Tunisia – 7 companies; Gambia (in West Africa) – 8 companies; the Bahamas (in the West Indies islands) – 10 companies.
 
Please note that the number of exporters according to countries and trade blocs includes diamond exporters.
