Israel Export Institute: Israeli exports to China up 33%

The number of exporters to China has grown by 7.5%, totaling 700 compared to 652 in 2009

Israel Export and International Cooperation Institute reported last week that in the first half of 2011 Israeli exports to China totaled more than US$1 billion – a 33% increase, compared to the corresponding period last year.

Israel Export and International Cooperation Institute CEO, Avi Hefetz said that China is ranked fourth on the list of Israel's export destinations – up six spots compared to 2009.

The number of exporters to China has grown by 7.5%, totaling 700 compared to 652 in 2009.

Hefetz noted, however, that the potential of Israeli exports to China is still far from being materialized as it only made up about 0.17% of Chinese imports (excluding diamonds) in the past year – significantly lower than the global average.
