Some 11 million passengers went through Ben Gurion Airport this year, a 10% increase compared to 2007
According to the Ministry of Tourism 2008 is expected to be the best year ever for the tourism industry in Israel, with a record-breaking number of incoming tourists.
Figures released by the Ministry of Tourism revealed that three million visitors have already entered the country this year, representing a 30% growth compared to last year's figures.
Tourism statistics for 2008 will be the highest since 2000, when 2.672 million tourists visited Israel.Israeli tourism is definitely on the up judging by the significant increase in tourists visiting the country since the beginning of 2008.
Some 11 million passengers went through Ben Gurion Airport this year, a 10% increase compared to 2007.
In November the Israel airport authority registered an increase of 6.85% in international passengers moving through Ben Gurion Airport - 757,282 passengers (366,899 incomings and 390,383 outgoing passengers).
Since the beginning of the year some 10,425,435 international passengers moved through the airport, an increase of 10.27% compared to the parallel period last year.
