The report was assembled by the Economic Department of the Manufacturers Association of Israel
The Economic Department of the Manufacturers Association of Israel reported that industrial exports for the first quarter of 2012 declined by 4% compared to the last quarter of 2011.
According to the association's report, much of the decline in industrial exports was due to a 9% decline in exports by various hi-tech sectors, notably a 30% downturn in aviation exports and a 20% drop in pharmaceutical products for abroad.
The decrease was partially offset by a rise in exports of communications and monitoring equipment, as well as medical equipment.
Among exports of low-tech products, furniture exports, as well as wood, paper and printed products, fared best during the first quarter of the year.
The Manufacturers Association of Israel stands at the forefront of the Israeli economy and constitutes a leading force in the economy and industry, as well as in the national and international arena.
