Israel Consumer Confidence Index (CCI), dropped in October 2010 by 0.6 points to 93.2 points, after rising 0.3 points in September and 5.1 points in August.
The CCI, which is complied by Globes Research and pwc Israel, indicated, in trend figures, stood at 91.9 points in October, 8.1 points lower than its April 2010 peak. The consumer confidence survey measures the level of optimism that consumers have about the performance of the economy.
Generally consumer confidence is high when the unemployment rate is low and GDP growth is high. Measures of average consumer confidence can be useful indicators of how much consumers are likely to spend.
The recent figures indicate strong confidence and stability among Israeli consumers.
