A delegation of 25 Israel companies headed by Ministry of Industry, Trade and Labor director-general Raanan Dinur visited Kazakhstan last week.
 
The visit was originally planned to include Uzbekistan, but due to rioting there it was left out.

The delegation included representatives of Bateman Engineering, Comverse Technology, Gilat Satellite Networks, Tadiran Communications , IAI- Israel Aircraft Industries, RAFAEL Armament Development Authority Ltd., Intelitek, and Superior Cables.
 
The delegation’s goal is to help Israeli companies take part in agricultural, industrial, environmental, satellite communications, and information technology projects.

Dinur met during the visit senior Kazakhstan government officials and prominent businessmen in an effort to promote economic and trade relations between Kazakhstan and Israel.
 
Dinur proposed to the government of Kazakhstan a treaty for the Prevention of Double Taxation. The treaty is likely, according to the delegation's spokesman, to contribute significantly to bilateral trade and investment between Israel and Kazakhstan.
 
Dinur met also with Kazakhstan deputy minister of industry and trade Ivan Kravchenko. The two men discussed the need to upgrade bilateral economic agreements between in order to create a convenient infrastructure for the Israeli and Kazakhstan business communities.
