Exports of Israeli plastic and rubber products to Arab countries in 2006 were up 10% totalling US $48 million. The importing countries include Morocco, Egypt, Tunisia, Jordan, Algeria
 
Exports of Israeli plastic and rubber products to Arab countries in 2006 were up 10% over the previous year, totalling US $48 million, according to Dr. Ilan Tessler, chairman of the Society of Israel Plastics and Rubber Industry in the Manufacturers Association of Israel and general director of "Plason".
 
The importing countries include Morocco, Egypt, Tunisia, Jordan, Algeria, the United Arab Emirates, Bahrain, Qatar, Abu Dhabi, Saudi Arabia and Iraq (mainly to the United States military).
 
According to Tessler, the export to Arab countries includes mainly plastic agricultural products, plastic boards and sheets for greenhouses, irrigation systems, plastic watering devices, garden and home products, disposable utensils for food packaging, and more.
 
Tessler added that at the end of 2006 the plastic and rubber sales increased by 7 percent and reached about USD 3.58 billion.
 
Sales in the local market increased last year, by 3.8% and came to USD 1.68 billion. According to Tessler, most of the plastic and rubber exports from Israel, about 51.5 percent, go to the European Union, while 30 percent goes to North America.

The rest is directed towards Asia, South America, Australia, Africa and Arab countries.
