In a trade conference held last week in Bucharest, Romania, Mr. Uriel Lynn President of the Federation of Israeli Chambers of Commerce (FICC) said that trade with Romania which is running, at present, around the US$200 millions level should be increased 5 folds to US$ 1 billion.

Mr. Lynn was speaking in a conference held in honor of an Israeli trade delegation which visited Romania last week on the invitation of the President of the Romanian Chambers of Commerce Mr. George Kozokaro.

The Israeli trade delegation consisted of 15 delegates representing the agriculture, freight forwarding, food, medicines, high precision metal industry and trade exhibitions sectors met the Romanian trade and industry minister Mr.Dan Loan Popescu

The conference to which some 100 Romanian companies sent delegates, was hailed by the organizers as a success in the sense that it provided delegates a unique opportunity to understand the existing potential and examine ways to widen co-operation between firms.

Mr. Lynn called upon the Romanian companies to increase their export efforts to Israel saying that Israel is today, more than ever, interested to increase its purchases from Romania in order to substitute import from Western Europe which is far more expensive source of goods and services.
