On the occasion of its 50th anniversary, the Eurochambers (The Association of European Chambers of Commerce and Industry) in cooperation with national chambers of commerce, launches the first European Parliament of Enterprises which will be held in Brussels on 14 October 2008, at Hemicycle of the European Parliament.

Mr. Uriel Lynn, President of the Federation of Israeli Chambers of Commerce (FICC), who was elected as a board member of Eurochambres, will represent Israel in the event.

This unique event will gathertogether 1,200 enterprises and 774 entrepreneurs recruited through the National Chambers of Commerce and Industry of 45 European Countries. These direct representations of the European business community will debate key policy issues face-to-face with high-level decision-makers. The policy issues this year will be: doing business without barriers, tackling energy & environmental challenges, creating entrepreneurial Europe.

The representatives will then vote on recommendations which will be presented to the French Presidency of the Council of the European Union. Enterprises’ votes will help institutions better understand the needs and the concerns that companies are confronted with daily, and ultimately build a more business-friendly Europe.

Created in 1958, Eurochambres is the European Association of Chambers of Commerce and Industry and forms one of the key pillars of business representation to the European institutions.
