A high ranking delegation headed by Mr. Dilavar Farzaliyev Deputy Chief External Relation Department, Azerbaijan State Customs Committee visited Israel last week to discuss customs co-operation between the two states.
Both sides singed during the visit a memorandum of customs cooperation between the Israeli customs directorate and the Azeri State Customs Committee.
Mr. Doron Arbelli head of the Israeli Customs Directorate and Mr. Dilavar Farzaliyev have agreed that Israeli customs officers will take part in training Azeri State Customs employees in Azerbaijan's customs' training center.

The Customs MOU provides a framework for cooperation with Azerbaijan, particularly for the exchange of information to better enforce customs laws and to enable free flow of trade.
Intelligence featured strongly in the talks, particularly ways to develop Azerbaijan practices to enable the operational exchange of customs information about smuggling. Both countries agreed to develop the working relationship between senior intelligence officials of both organizations and to give priority to the sharing of relevant information on integrity and technology issues.
