Mr. David Huri head the export & bilateral trade agreement department Israel Tax Authority issued last week a letter pernitting the Israeli trading community to trade with Iraq.

In his letter Huri noted that the minister of finance had extended the authority to trade with Iraq until 15th July 2009.

Former Finance Minster Netanyahu's decision to allow trade with Iraq facilitated those business links.

Until the initial authorization, Iraq was included in a list of hostile countries, with which trade was forbidden.

The decision was then coordinated with Minister of Foreign Affairs Silvan Shalom, and includes commercial and financial links with Iraq, particularly the supply and transportation of goods, and the payment and transfer of funds.
