Data released last week by Israel's tax authority noted a 6% increase in car import in November, compared to the corresponding period last year.
During November 2011 Israel imported 21,075 motor vehicles compared to19,861 motor vehicles in November 2010.
The January – November statistics indicate a total of 213,958 motor vehicles imported, up 5.4% compared to the corresponding period last year.
The authority noted, however, that the aggregate increase in motor vehicle import has slowed down in recent months. The slow down is attributed to large import in the second half of 2010 and during the first half of 2011.
The authority also registered 5% reduction in import of refrigerators, 2.3% reduction in washing machines, 22% reduction on dishwashers, 2% in TV sets whereas video and DVD registered 5.2% increase and 123.1% increase in import of dryers.
