David Arzi chairman of the Israel Export and International Cooperation Institute issued last week a press release indicating that the number of Israeli exporters operating in the US (excluding diamond exporters), grew in 2006 by 740, an 11% growth, compared to 2005, reaching 7,363 companies.
The number of Israeli exporters operating in the EU grew in 2006 by 1,764, an 8% growth, compared to 2005, reaching 23,160 companies.
The number of Israeli exporters to east Asian countries increased last year by 11%, an additional 859 exporters, reaching 8,984 companies.
The number of Israeli exporters to Latin America countries increased last year by 8%, an additional 305 exporters, reaching 4,194 companies. However, the number of exporters operating in Canada in 2006 was down by 11%, reaching 1,671.
Data analysis made by the economic unit of the Israel Export and International Cooperation Institute shows that the ten countries where most Israeli companies operated in 2005 were: USA – 7,363 companies, an 11% increase compared to 2005, 3,194 Israeli exporters work in the UK ,an 8% growth compared to 2005; 2,547 in Germany, 8%; 2,226 in France 9%; 2,037 in Belgium, 16%; 1,858 in Italy 8%; the Netherlands – 1,729 companies, 7% and Spain – 1,407, 5% increase and Hong Kong 1,374 companies, increase of 14%.
The analysis also shows that Israeli exporters operate in highly remote places such as Greenland, Falkland Islands, Samoa, Cape Verde in the Atlantic Ocean, Micronesia and Marshall Islands.
