Industry, Trade and Labor Minister Ehud Olmert will visit South Korea and Hong Kong later this month. In a press release the ministry said last Wednesday that the minister will be accompanied by representatives of communications and remote learning companies.
 
The trade delegation is organized by the Export Institute and the Manufacturers Association. It is understood that the following companies will participate in the trade delegation : Audiocodes, Rad Data, Radcom, ECI Telecom as well as remote learning companies Degem, Robo Group,Audiosoft.
 
Trade between Israel and South Korea in the first nine months of 2004 totaled $812 million. Exports to the country rose 33% to $271m., while imports rose 28% to $541m. Trade with Hong Kong totaled $1.76 billion. Exports grew 41% to $962m., while imports rose 26% to $804m.
 
The trip comes a month after Olmert took a similar delegation to India. Minister Ulmet and his Korean counterpart will jointly open a communication seminar. The minister will visit during his stay four leading Korean communication companies : Samsung, SKT, KT & LG. During the stay Ulmert is scheduled to visit Korea's Prime Minister and meet Korea's communication Minister.
