Paris Air Show will bring Israeli exhibitors contracts worth $600-800 million

Israeli exports of homeland security and safety equipment will grow 20% this year to $1.2 billion. 30 new companies entered this field over the past year
 
Israel Export and International Cooperation Institute chairman David Arzi said last week that the 11 Israeli companies participating in the Paris Air Show will sign contracts worth $600-800 million during the show.
 
Arzi added that the global defense and aerospace market will grow by $1.3 billion this year (3.1%, compared with 0.9% growth in 2006), and will grow by $1.4 billion in 2009.
 
Israeli exports of homeland security and safety equipment, excluding information security, will grow 20% this year, compared with 15% growth in 2006, to $1.2 billion. 30 new companies entered this field over the past year, to a total of 350 exporters. IT security exports totaled $2 billion.
 
The Israeli companies participating at the show are Aeronautics Defense Systems, Bental, Elbit Systems and its Tadiran Communications subsidiary, Israel Aerospace Industries, Orbit Technology, Plasan Sasa, Rada, Rafael, SGD Engineering, and Star Defense Systems.
 
Israel is the world’s fourth largest defense exporter, after the US, Russia, and France, and ahead of the UK. Israeli defense exports total $3.4 billion.
 
SIBAT - Foreign Defense Assistance and Defense Export Organization director-general Gen. (Ret.) Yosi Ben-Hanan valued Israel's total delivered defense exports in 2006 at $3.4 billion, compared with about $2.9 billion in 2005. Israeli companies in 2006 signed about $4.88 billion in new contracts to deliver defense technology versus $3.5 billion a year earlier, he estimated.
 
Over 2,000 exhibitors will take part in the 2007 show including Tunis and Lybia. More than 400,000 visitors are expected to visit the show.
