Exports of goods in the five years period 2000-05 rose 36%. The largest export sectors in 2005 were diamonds - $12.1b followed by chemicals - $6.8b

The Central Bureau of Statistics (CBS) announced last week that pharmaceuticals manufactured in Israel and exported to world markets made up 5.1% of Israel’s total exports in 2005, up from 1.7% in 2000. Exports of goods in the five years period 2000-05 rose 36%.
 
The largest export sectors in 2005, in terms of sales, were diamonds - $12.1b followed by chemicals - $6.8b; aggregate industrial, scientific and medical equipment - $3.2b. High-tech exports, including electronic components and communications equipment, have been falling as a proportion of exports to most markets, but nevertheless remain a very large proportion of total Israeli exports.
 
The long term statistical analysis prepared by the CBS also show that agricultural exports to the EU accounted for 77% of total agricultural exports.
