The Israeli defense company bought a 40% stake of the company based near Sao Paulo
The Israeli defense company Rafael Advanced Defense Systems,which designs, develops, manufactures and supplies a wide range of high-tech defense systems for air, land, sea and space applications, announced the acquisition of a 40% stake in the Brazilian aerospace companyGespiAeronבutica(Industria e Comercio de Equipamentos Aeronauticos Ltda).
Formalannouncement of the acquisition was made last Tuesday, at the LAAD Security 2012 conference in Rio de Janeiro.
The acquisition indicates the deepening of Rafael's position in the growing Brazilian homeland security and defense market.
Based in Sao Jose dos Campos near Sao Paulo, GespiAeronבuticaprovides products and services to the aerospace market, including training and ultra-light aircrafts, rocket coifs, weapon kits for helicopters, anti-haze rockets, starter unit for aircraft, cleaning compressors, as well as aircraft maintenance and interior refurbishing services.
The companies did not disclose the amount of the deal.
