Guy Sebban, the Secretary General of the International Chamber of Commerce, visited Israel last week as guest of Mr. Uriel Lynn, president of the Federation of Israeli Chambers of Commerce and Mr. Oren Shachor, Chairman of ICC Israel 

Sebban became the Secretary General of the International Chamber of Commerce on 1 July 2005. Prior to joining ICC, he held a variety of leadership positions within international corporations, most recently at Aventis and then as Senior Advisor to the CEO at Vivendi Universal.
 
During the visit Sebbanmet Mr. Oren Shachor chairman of the Israeli ICC National Committee as well as with Mr. Moshe Zanbar, Yakov Artal. Sebbanalso met the heads of the Israeli commercial banks, members of the Israeli ICC National Committee.
 
He also met Mr. Ron Prosor Director-General Minister of Foreign Affairs and Mr. Amnon Dotan, Chairman of the Israeli Federation of Bilateral Chambers of Commerce.
 
The International Chamber of Commerce was founded in 1919 with an overriding aim that remains unchanged: to serve world business by promoting trade and investment, open markets for goods and services, and the free flow of capital.The organization has since recognized as the world business organization with thousands of member companies and associations in around 140 countries. Members include many of the world's most influential companies and represent every major industrial and service sector.
 
The ICC's vital role in the world of commerce is in forging internationally agreed rules and standards that companies adopt voluntarily and can be incorporated in binding contracts.ICC provides business input to the United Nations, the World Trade Organization, and many other intergovernmental bodies, both international and regional.
