South African trade delegation due in Israel this week

Israel Export and International Cooperation Institute said last week in a press release that a South African trade delegation would be visiting Israel. The delegation consists of representatives of ten South African companies.

Mr.Dennis Worrall, chairman of South African investment company Omega, will head the delegation.
 
A spokesman for the Israel Export and International Cooperation Institute said that the South African companies are involved in the agro-technology, communications, information technology, and security industries.
 
Export Institute director Mr.Yechiel Assia said the South African representatives are expected to meet with 60 Israeli companies, among which : Alvarion , Arad Technologies, C. Mer Industries, Elisra Electronic Systems, FibroLAN, Eurotech Communication, and other Israeli companies .
 
The Export Institute predicted that deals worth over $15 million, over three years, would be signed during the meetings.
 
Mr.Yechiel Assia added that Israeli industrial exports to South Africa, excluding diamonds, rose by 33% to $178 million in 2004, after three consecutive years of decline. Exports to South Africa, according to Asia, are expected to grow by 15-20% in 2005.
