The first Tel Aviv Fashion Week (TLVFW) since the 1980′s, an important benchmark for Israel, took place in November 21-23, 2011.
 
The event which was kicked off by Italian designer Roberto Cavalli, presenting his spring 2012 collection was the first big step to put Israel on the fashion map– it’s the first International fashion show in 30 years.
 
The event featured some 20 fashion shows in front of over 20,000 guests, including guest of honor, Roberto Cavalli. The week featured fashion from the Spring Summer 2012 collections of Israeli and international designers, and will take place between November 21-23, 2011, at HaTachana, the Old Railway Station in the south of the city, new retail area occupying the beautifully restored British Empire train station.
 
Designers presented their collections in Spring – Summer 2012 were Tovele guys, Sasson Kedem, Joseph, Mira Zvilingr, Dorin Frankfurt, Galit Levi, Gideon Oberson, Dodo (Dorit Bar-Or), Almbika (Hagar Almbik), Shai Shalom, Alon birch, Nathaniel Zikri, fashion school students Shankar and new designers Ishtar, Ido Recanati and Mauritius.
 
The Tel Aviv Fashion Week was supported by Ministry of Tourism, Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Ministry of Information and the municipality of Tel Aviv. The event is produced by Abbott REEP Meiri company and by Ofir Lev, a businessman and entrepreneur.
