Some 12 Connecticut companies and organizations have committed to accompanying Congressman Joe Courtney on the trade mission

Congressman Joe Courtney announced last week that he would lead an economic trade mission of Connecticut companies to Israel this spring aiming to create new economic opportunities and jobs in the state. The business and economic development mission will officially begin on April 7, 2010.

A statement issued by Congressman Joe Courtney noted that "This mission to Israel is about creating long-term economic opportunities and jobs for a more sustainable and robust Connecticut economy".

He added that "I want to help open doors for Connecticut companies who otherwise have no global reach or resources to bridge the international divide."

Congressman Joe Courtney also noted that "A recent survey in the state of Connecticut indicated that 80 percent of manufacturers believe export promotion should be a top economic priority. Our trade mission to Israel will serve as the vehicle to proactively open up the Israeli market to our state's companies”.

So far some 12 Connecticut companies and organizations have committed to accompanying Courtney on the trade mission.
