China gave Israel's President Shimon Peres the royal welcome, with Chinese President Xi Jinping stating that the Jewish people and the Chinese share a common opposition to militarism and fascism.

During the discussion between the two presidents, Peres told Xi that enhanced cooperation between the two countries could lead both to far greater heights. The Israeli President also raised the increased cooperation between Israel and China in the fields of technology, medicinal agriculture and neuroscience.

Peres called for direct flights by Chinese airlines from China to Israel to increase tourism the two countries. Xi noted that China wants to continue high-level exchanges with Israel and establish stronger ties and cooperation in the fields of technology, agriculture, medical treatment, environmental protection, energy and education. "We have full confidence in the China-Israel relationship," Xi said.
