Greek Prime Minister headed a delegation of 100 business leaders to Israel

Greek Prime Minister Antonis Samaras visited Israel last week with eight cabinet ministers and 100 business leaders, for a series of meetings with Israeli officials to discuss potential agreements for cooperation in security, energy, tourism and more.

Eight ministers accompanied the premier as Greece and Israel held their first-ever government-to-government (G2G) meeting.

The meeting discussed issues of bilateral cooperation, with particular emphasis on energy, while a number of bilateral agreements were signed for closer economic cooperation on many sectors, such as energy, science, technology, culture, education, youth exchanges, public safety and crime-fighting, maritime transportation and tourism.

Samaras met the President of Israel Shimon Peres and declare open a Tel Aviv Greek-Israeli Business Conference bringing together more than 100 Greek entrepreneurs interested in doing business in Israel.

During the visit, Samaras attended a Gala dinner with senior officials in the Israeli shipping sector, among them Mr. Moshe Mano the president of Mano Group. Mano, the son of parents born in Thessaloniki, is putting his efforts to promote Israeli tourism to Greece and brought tens of thousands of tourists each year by cruise ships owned and operated by Mano group.
