The Central Bureau of Statistics (CBS) reported that in April 2015, import of goods (gross, excluding diamonds) totaled NIS 16.5 billion.

 

39% of the goods were imports from EU countries, 22% from Asian countries, 12% from USA and 27% from Other Countries.

 

Export of goods (gross, excluding diamonds) totaled NIS 13.3 billion and the trade deficit in goods (excluding diamonds) totaled NIS 3.2 billion. 32% were exports to EU countries, 24% to USA, 21% to Asian countries and 23% to other countries

 

Trade balance in Goods – January- April 2015

The trade deficit in goods (excl. diamonds) with EU countries totaled NIS 5.9 billion (-17.7% compared to January- April 2014).

 

The trade deficit in goods (excl. diamonds) with Asian countries totaled NIS 3.7 billion (-7.9% compared to January - April 2014).

 

The trade surplus in goods (excl. diamonds) with USA totaled NIS 4.8 billion (37.4% compared to January - April 2014).

 

The trade deficit in goods (excl. diamonds) with other countries totaled NIS 5.9 billion (-42.6% compared to January - April 2014).

 

Import of goods February-April 2015

Import of goods (excluding ship, aircraft, diamonds and fuels) increased by 2.5% at an annual rate in February-April 2015, according to trend data, continuing an increase of 10.5% in November 2014 – January 2015.

 

Trend data by main country groups indicates that imports from EU countries point to a drop of 1.6%, at an annual rate, in February-April 2015, after a rise of 4.7% in November 2014-January 2015. In January –April 2015 imports (excluding diamonds) from Germany, Slovenia and Malta, decreased significantly compared to January- April 2014.

 

Imports from USA rose 2.2% at an annual rate in February-April 2015, continuing an increase of 26.7% in November 2014 - January 2015 (2.0% monthly average).

 

Imports from Asian Countries point to a drop of 0.4% in the last three months, after an increase of 14.7% in November 2014 - January 2015. In January-April 2015 imports (excluding diamonds) from Japan, South Korea and Philippines, decreased significantly compared to January- April 2014.

 

Imports from Other Country Group point to a drop of 13.5% in the last three months, at an annual rate continuing a decrease of 23.9% in November 2014-January 2015. In January-April 2015 imports (excluding diamonds) from Ukraine, Ethiopia and Turkey, decreased significantly compared to January- March 2014.

 

Exports of goods

The trend data calculated by the Central Bureau of Statistics, seasonally adjusted and adjusted for irregular elements, in Export of goods (excluding ships, aircraft and diamonds) decreased by 13.1% at an annual rate, according to trend data, after an increase of 4.8% in November 2014 - January 2015.

 

Exports to EU countries declined 8.2%, at an annual rate, in February-April 2015, continuing a decrease of 5.5% in November 2014 - January 2015. In January-April 2015 exports (excluding diamonds) to Greece, Italy and Cyprus, decreased significantly compared to January- April 2014.

 

Trend data by main country groups indicates that exports to USA drop 0.9%, at an annual rate, in February-April 2015 after an increase of 32.7% in November 2014 - January 2015 (2.4% monthly average).

 

Exports to Asian Countries rose 3.2%, in the last three months, continuing an increase of 45.8% (3.2% monthly average), in November 2014 - January 2015. In January-April 2015 exports (excluding diamonds) to India, Vietnam and Azerbaijan, increased significantly compared to January-April 2014.

 

Exports to Other Country Group decreased by 34.2% in February-April 2015 (-3.4% monthly average) continuing a decrease of 16.9% in November 2014-January 2015. In January-April 2015 exports (excluding diamonds) to Turkey, Russian Federation and Egypt, decreased significantly compared to January-April 2014.
