The Israel Central Bureau of Statistics reported that in February 2016, import of goods (gross, excluding diamonds) totaled NIS18.9 billion. 43% were imports from EU countries, 24% from Asian countries, 15% from USA and 18% from Other Countries.

 

Export of goods (gross, excluding diamonds) totaled NIS13.5 billion and the trade deficit in goods (excluding diamonds) totaled NIS 5.4 billion. 33% were exports to EU countries, 28% to USA, 20% to Asian countries and 19% to other countries.

 

Trade balance January - February 2016

The trade deficit in goods (excl. diamonds) with EU countries totaled NIS 6.1 billion against a deficit of NIS 1.6 billion in January - February 2015.

 

The trade deficit in goods (excl. diamonds) with Asian countries totaled NIS 3.3 billion that represents an increase of 121.0% compared to January - February 2015.

 

The trade surplus in goods (excl. diamonds) with USA totaled NIS 2.3 billion that represents a decrease of 6.2% compared to January - February 2015.

 

The trade surplus in goods (excl. diamonds) with Other Countries totaled NIS 22 billion against a deficit of NIS 1.9 billion in January - February 2015.

 

Import of goods December 2015-February 2016

The trend data calculated by the Central Bureau of Statistics, shows that import of goods (excluding ship, aircraft, diamonds and fuels) increased by 9.0% at an annual rate in December 2015-February 2016,continuing an increase of 8.4% in September-November 2015.

 

Trend data by main country groups indicates that imports from EU countries rose 20.2%, at an annual rate, in December 2015-February 2016 (1.5% monthly average), continuing a rise of 22.6% in September- November 2015 (1.7% monthly average). In January-February 2016 imports (excluding diamonds) from Czech Republic, Ireland and Slovenia increased significantly compared to January-February 2015.

 

Imports from USA decrease by 4.7% at an annual rate in December 2015-February 2016, after an increase of 1.2% September-November 2015.

 

Imports from Asian Countries point to a rise of 20.8% in the last three months (1.6% monthly average), continuing an increase of 9.3% in September-November 2015. In January-February 2016 imports (excluding diamonds) from Japan and Singapore, increased significantly compared to January-February 2015.

 

Imports from Other Country Group point to a drop of 13.6% in the last three months, at an annual rate, continuing a decrease of 19.8% in September-November 2015. In January-February 2016 imports (excluding diamonds) from Ethiopia, Switzerland decreased significantly compared to January-February 2015.

 

Export of goods

The trend data calculated by the Central Bureau of Statistics, seasonally adjusted and adjusted for irregular elements, show that export of goods (excluding ships, aircraft and diamonds) increased by 1.5% at an annual rate, continuing an increase of 3.8% in September-November 2015.

 

Exports to EU countries rose 2.7%, at an annual rate, in December 2015-Ferbruary 2016, after a decrease of 14.6% in September-November 2015. In January-February 2016 exports (excluding diamonds) to Belgium, Hungary and Romania, increased significantly compared to January-February 2015.

 

Trend data by main country groups indicates that exports to USA rose 42.4%, at an annual rate, (3.0% monthly average), in December 2015-February 2016 continuing an increase of 46.9% in September- November 2015 (3.2% monthly average).

 

Exports to Asian Countries point a drop of 33.0%, in the last three months (3.3% monthly average), continuing a decrease of 24.0%, in September-November 2015 (2.3% monthly average). In January- February 2016 exports (excluding diamonds) to India, Singapore and Jordan, decreased significantly compared January-February 2015.

 

Exports to Other Country Group point to a rise of 5.6% in December 2015-February 2016 continuing an increase of 5.6% in September-November 2015. In January-February 2016 exports (excluding diamonds) to Switzerland, Peru and Egypt, increased significantly compared to January-February 2015.
