Shraga Brosh, the president of the Manufacturers Association, said last week that based on analysis carried out by the economic department of the Manufacturers Association, the traditional industry registered, between October 2005 and January 2006, a higher growth rate compared to the high-tech sector.
Traditional industry, covering mixed-low industrial output including metals, rubber goods and plastics and low technology industrial output covering food and beverages, textiles and clothing and leather made products grew between October 2005 and January 2006 by 2.5%. The high-tech sector registered a growth rate of 1.7%.
The number of high-tech employees rose by 1,100 whereas the number of employees at the traditional sector grew by 600.
