Participation rate in the labor force reach 63.3%
 
The Central Bureau of Statistics (CBS) reported last week that the unemployment rate rose to 7% in the second quarter of 2012, from 6.9% in the preceding quarter.
 
In the 2nd quarter of 2012 - April- June: Unemployment rate among persons aged 15 and over from the labor force – 7.0%, compared with 6.9% in the 1st quarter of 2012.
 
Participation rate in the labor force among persons aged 15 and over – 63.6%, compared with 62.8% in the 1st quarter of 2012. Employment rate among persons aged 15 and over – 59.1%, compared with 58.5% in the 1st quarter of 2012.
 
Unemployment rate among persons aged 25-64 from the labor force – 6.1%, compared with 5.9% in the 1st quarter of 2012. Participation rate in the labor force among persons aged 25-64 – 79.0%, compared with 77.8% in the 1st quarter of 2012.
 
Employment rate among persons aged 25-64 – 74.2%, compared with 73.2% in the 1st quarter of 2012.
 
In June 2012: Unemployment rate among persons aged 15 and over from the labor force – 7.2%, compared with 7.1% in May 2012. Participation rate in the labor force among persons aged 15 and over – 63.5%, compared with 63.7% in May 2012. Employment rate (the percentage of employed persons out of the total population) among persons aged 15 and over – 58.9%, compared with 59.2% in May 2012.
