A mutual visa waiver agreement between Taiwan and Israel was signed by Simona Halperin, director of the Israel Economic and Cultural Office in Taipei on Friday. The agreement is being delivered to Israel to be signed by Taiwan's representative in Israel, Chang Liang-jen.

The agreement will take effect 45 days after Chang signs it. Taiwan's Ministry of Foreign Affairs (MOFA) announced last week that the signing is making Israel the 114th country to grant visa-free privileges to Taiwanese passport holders.

After the visa waiver agreement goes into effect, Taiwanese passport holders with at least six months validity remaining on their passports will be able to enter Israel visa-free, and stay up to 90 days within a 180-day period.
