The wineries association aim to double Israeli wine exports to the US to $15 million within three years, compared with $7.5 million in 2005
The Israel Export and International Cooperation Institute said last week, during the international wine festival at the Tel Aviv Exhibition Grounds, that it had decided to set up a wineries association with the aim of doubling Israeli wine exports to the US to $15 million within three years, compared with $7.5 million in 2005.
In a statement published by the institute director Yechiel Assia, the new wineries association will incorporate 20-30 leading wineries, among them Carmel Wineries, Golan Heights Winery, Binyamina Wine Cellars, Barkan Winery, Efrat Winery, and Tishbi Winery.
Assia added that the new association would help create awareness to Israeli wine in the US market, and among opinion makers and wine experts.
The association would handle all marketing concepts, exhibitions, exposure & market research, while the wineries themselves would focus on sales and distribution. 55% of Israel’s wine exports are to the US and 35% are to the European Union.
