The White-tailed Eagle, also known as the Sea Eagle, or White-tailed Sea-eagle is a very large bird of prey in the family Accipitridae which includes other raptors such as hawks, kites and harriers.

The White-tailed Eagle is a huge bird, 76-100 cm (30-40 in) long with a 200-250 cm (79-99 in) wingspan and a body weight ranging from 3.5 to 7.5 kg (7.7-16.5 lbs). Females are significantly larger than the males.

The 4 birds of prey were flown to Israel byMessers Orian Ltd. a leading local freight forwarders, for a new comeback scheme in the north of the country. The youngsters, when able to fly, will be released within a few weeks in the first phase of a new project to restore this species to north eastern Israel, where it was wiped out by humans almost 50 years ago.

Mr. Yariv Pozner, Orian's deputy director general for marketing and sales, said following the successful delivery of the birds that Orian is dedicated for the protection of the environment and will continue to serve the community in a wide range of services.
